In June 2016, Save the Dream gave children from underprivileged communities in Los Angeles, California, the chance to play football and experience the thrill of attending a COPA AMERICA match.

In partnership with the Southern California Youth Soccer Organization (SCYSO) and the Villa Parke Community Center, Save the Dream hosted a soccer clinic for 100 Latino boys and girls from 8-12 years of age.

The following day, the children attended the COPA AMERICA match Mexico vs. Jamaica to cheer for the positive values of sport. In the course of the project, Save the Dream conducted a number of fact-finding meetings with local NGOs and stakeholders to promote the development of a long-term programme to assist children who are not in the position to “pay to play”.
