Bringing sport organisations, faith communities and volunteers together across six European countries to make sport genuinely intercultural.
FONTES promotes social integration and intercultural dialogue through sport, with particular attention to young people with a migrant background and to multicultural and multi-faith communities.
The consortium brings together sport organisations, faith-based bodies and community foundations from six European countries. Its work builds the capacity of grassroots organisations, volunteers and coaches to create sporting environments where difference is ordinary, not a reason for exclusion.
Working closely with the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) and the other partners, including Olympiacos SFP and the Archdiocese of Naples, Save the Dream leads the project’s research and mapping of good practice. The research, which combined an online survey reaching beyond the partner countries with national expert focus groups, became the report Sport, Faith and Belonging: Social Integration through Sport in Multicultural and Multi-Faith Europe, the evidence base for the project’s training, digital tools and policy recommendations.
