An Erasmus+ Sport project opening grassroots football to young people facing barriers to participation, through research, training and direct work with clubs.

Football for a Chance (F4aC) works to make grassroots football more open, so that young people facing barriers to participation can find a place in the game. It works with football managers, coaches and officials to build inclusion, gender sensitivity and cultural diversity into the way their organisations are run.

The project approaches inclusion as a change in everyday practice. Research, capacity building and direct work with clubs, municipalities and communities are combined in one programme, helping football organisations identify what keeps young people out and change the way they recruit, welcome and keep participants.

Working closely with Citizens in Power (Cyprus) and the other partners, including the German Sport University Cologne, Panionios G.S.S. (Greece) and SISH – Social Innovation Sportshub (Portugal), Save the Dream contributes to the project’s educational resources and leads its dissemination, stakeholder engagement and long-term impact work.
