A volunteer drive that sent 30 Italian sports volunteers to Haiti to support sport and education for children.

Let’s Go to Haiti was a volunteer drive connecting Italian sport with long-term work in Haitian communities, sending 30 sports volunteers to support sport and education for children.

After the 2010 earthquake, the Centro Sportivo Italiano (CSI) began supporting sport and education for Haitian communities in cooperation with local agencies and authorities. In 2015 Save the Dream used its Serie A platform to recruit further volunteers, bringing the call to football’s wide audience in Italy. It showed how the reach of top-flight football can be turned into practical help on the ground.

On 31 July 2015, 30 CSI volunteers arrived in Haiti to run camp activities in football, volleyball and basketball for children from disadvantaged areas, including those without family or home. The camps built on the relationships CSI had developed with local partners since the earthquake, so that the volunteers added to an existing effort rather than starting from scratch.
